The latest conflagration on this lonely blue pebble is the war in Ukraine. Our former President Don's friend Pootsy is murdering thousands and displacing millions. He's not going to stop. It's going to get a lot worse, because after all, that's what we humans do. We take an atrocity and make it so much (so much) worse. Just ask the one million dead American COVID victims. Some of my Christian brothers and sisters may be wondering how all this bad shit happens when the G-Dawg is allegedly watching over things - and - not only watching but allegedly has a plan. It pains me to read and listen to their mental gymnastics trying to square that circle because.. All we have is each other. As insufficient and disagreeable as that is sometimes, it's true. It's us and the void. Pretty overwhelming - especially when a bad actor like Pootsy comes along, killing kids, women, men, old people - threatening to gas people and maybe spin up a nuke or two.. And so - I can understand - and connect with - the desire for an uber being with his/her hand on the tiller, but it's just not true... It's us - just us - us and the void. |
