One million covid-dead Americans - and that's probably a low-ball number. Didn't have to be like this, but there it is. It's what we're best at - taking a bad situation and making it excruciatingly worse. This is not over yet either, despite what bright-siders, woo-woo merchants, CEO's, technology bros, and religious and conservative thought-leaders declaim. More of us will die, more of the the old, more of the immune-compromised, more of the fat - you know - the troublesome demographics everyone secretly wishes would just go (right the fuck) away so we could all get on with indoor brunch (at long last). And - of course - there will be a smattering of beautiful people (aka - the worthy) succumbing to the virus as well. Their deaths - noteworthy because of their youth and low BMI - will make for compelling content in the C Block on the nightly news..
