We visited graves on Mother's Day to say "Hi", place small pots of flowers, and tell stories about our Mothers and Grandmothers.

Years ago, I placed a Jizo figurine from The Jizo Project on my parents' headstone. It remained intact and unmolested (surprisingly) until this years' cycle of grass trimming around the headstones..

I found him decapitated at the base of the headstone. It's a pretty good bet that he got grabbed by a weed whacker which then summarily disconnected his head from his body..

I took him home in my pocket and re-attached his head with Gorilla Glue.. GG recommends clamping the piece for two hours after gluing. I found a smallish work clamp and set him up in its jaws - tightening to a firm grip, but no more - fearing shattering the piece and / or marring the glaze.

He's all better now and ready to go back to work. As you can see from the above, being head-clamped is nobody's idea of fun, not even a Bodhisattva's..
