plastic Buddha's head to help hawk
curated lifestyle accessories.
I mean - it's ignorant in the extreme - for sure -
but that's on the business owners. The Buddha was
all about non-craving, but in this case
the retailer has used his image
to actually hone neediness
to a fine point in order
to separate tourists
their money..
- But -
Can you imagine the garment-rending uproar
that would ensue if Jesus' head was ever
used in a similar way?
