The Piping Plovers, those tiny little puffballs, scourge of Conservatives everywhere, have had their babies and moved on. And so - the beaches at the Refuge have all opened up again.  When Carl and I drove up to the admission hut, I asked the attendant if Greenheads were still out and about. He said, "No, you'll have to wait until next season."  Hah. It was a sparkling, breezy day at the Refuge, with very few visitors.. Heaven. ~
