Cold Shot

"Snow Across Suntaug"

Welp - we in the Frozen Northeast just had a jaunty cold shot that combined subzero temperatures with 25-30 mph winds.  The "Feels-Like" temps were down below -25F.

Yowza!

In our Trumpy little neck of the woods - there was nothing all that dramatic in terms of power outages - but - in other parts of the Northeast - like on top of Mt Washington - winds got to a rockin' 110mph, which when combined with a -46F thermometer reading, rendered a "Feels-Like" temp of -108F. Gloucester Harbor had sea smoke. And - in northern Maine towns like Caribou, trees were exploding from the cold... That's no fucking around cold..

It's been warming up all day thank goodness. The outside temp is now 5F with a wind of 14mph which "Feels Like" -12F - or as we call it - shorts and sandals weather..

Whatever we went through in the Northeast with this cold shot, it was nothing compared to what the poor people who live in Gilead are going through after a recent bad ice storm.. Power is still out in a lot of Austin.. And - (and) they don't know when they will be able to restore it..  Gilead - for all its manly-man bluster is quite the little hot-house flower.. much to the chagrin of its residents

Here's a much more enjoyable kind of Cold Shot from the Bodhisattva of the Stratocaster, Stevie Ray..
