"Skunk Cabbages"

My BFF's, Skunk Cabbages, are sprouting up all over swamps near and far. Yay! I was taking a picture of some the other day when a young man approached me and asked what I was looking at.. - Well -  I went into a longer-than-necessary and more-exuberant-than-actually-necessary explanation of Skunk Cabbages.  "Exothermic plant!" - "Most of the plant is below ground!" - "Smells like rotted meat to attract pollinators!!"  By the end of it, the young man had taken several steps back and had a slightly worried look on his face... Something I  should have noticed about half-way through my telling of the wonders of Skunk Cabbages..  Oh well.. when you love something, you love it. It's hard to contain one's enthusiasm most some times..  ~
