I GO DOWN TO THE SHORE by Mary Oliver I go down to the shore in the morning and depending on the hour the waves are rolling in or moving out, and I say, oh, I am miserable, what shall — what should I do? And the sea says in its lovely voice: Excuse me, I have work to do I make the trip to the Refuge several times a week. It's not without its expense.. The Refuge is 27 miles away from my house. Ralphie gets around 35mpg on the highway which costs $2.77 in gas one way ($5.54 round trip). The Sea Queen is worth every penny, every minute, I am with Her and Her benevolent indifference. ~ |
