When I first started a Buddhist practice in 1989, the Christian imprint on me was still quite strong. And so - I spent a completely foolish amount of time wondering if I was going to roast for being an apostate.    In one of the Dharma books I was reading around that time, there was an anecdote about Seung Sahn Kun Sunim - a great Zen Master in the Korean tradition. After a Dharma talk, Seung Sahn was asked - "Christians tell me that I will end up in hell if I keep practicing Buddhism. What should I do Sunim?"  Seung Sahn laughed and replied "Start a Zen Center in Hell. Where better to practice the Dharma?"     And then there is my dear sweet Jizo, the Buddhist protector of women, children, and travelers in all six realms of existence. Jizo, a great bodhisattva, vowed to put off his full enlightenment until he emptied all the hell realms of their prisoners. So - if I end up in a Christian hell because of my dissolute life, it will only be a matter of time before Jizo comes to liberate me.. hah..
