I was out in the woods during the eclipse.
As maximum coverage approached, the world dimmed.
Colors faded. Peepers fell silent. Birds became
mute. The temperature dropped.

It was a three minute lesson in precarity which
made mockery of billionaire posers,
tech-bros, disruptors of all stripe,
and tough-guy wannabes.

We are nothing.
