"Goose Family"

At the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, 

on a narrow trail through some swampy terrain,

I met a Canada Goose family coming from

the opposite direction. They were four

goslings and two very wary parents.

The brush on either side of the 

path was too dense for 

either the geese or

me to make way.

So - 

I stepped to the far edge of the trail and stood

stock-still while they went by me, the 

young-ins peeping and pecking as 

they went. Once we passed 

each other, I told them

how beautiful they

were and I 

congratulated the 

parents on having four

plump, healthy

babies.
