This sign was nailed

to a scrub oak in the middle

the woods. The sign has been there a

good long while too, so long that the bark of 

the tree has started to subsume the sign,

bending it as it grows over it. There is nothing in the

general vicinity that even comes close to threatening

or dangerous, but there is this sign, nailed

to a tree, urging "Caution!"

 

 Maybe it's like the Zen Master's 

cry "Attention!" when a student asked him for

some wisdom.  Unsatisfied with a

single word, the student persisted and

said "Only that? Please, may I have more?",

to which the Zen Master replied:

"Attention!"
"Attention!"
"Attention!"

hah.
