After years (and years) of trying, I've completely cut ties with Christianity and its institutions.

Most recently this has meant rescinding permission for free use of my images for a faith-based literary journal published by one of the big barns in Boston. I told them that I could no longer afford to give away my pictures. I gave them a price for future use of new pictures. I told them that they were free to continue to use the pictures they've already downloaded, and by way of a transition period, they have one more issue where they can use my images free of charge..

(I'll never hear from them again..)

Pricing is only one of the issues that lead me to this decision. The others are:

 - Christians were instrumental in re-electing a convicted rapist and felon. They, through their one-note concern about sex-based transgressions (abortion, gay marriage, Trans rights) have tried with some success to unwind hard-fought progress in these areas, along with others like, say, science....

- Christians peddle delusion. Full stop.

- The particular bunch that I was involved with were, by and large, pleasant, nice people trying to do good in the world. Over time, they took me for granted. The connection I had with their community became one of a simple no-cost ornament repository for their website and their literary journal. They only ever contacted me if they had issues grabbing images from my flickr account. Never in many years has one of them ever checked in on me or said "Hi." (They were very diligent in sending me letters asking for money, though.. hah..)

- A few months ago I found that the editor of the journal had stripped the watermark from one of my images and then substantially changed it for use on a one-off broadsheet cover. Never asked ahead of time if the modifications were ok with me. Not good. Disrespectful.
